It has just been reported that a man has been allegedly arrested in Rivers state by police officers for not having receipts of his two mobile phones.
According to Nki Ru who shared the picture of the man on her Facebook profile, she disclosed that the arrest was made by Operation Delta, as the accused was in a taxi to Rivers State University.
She added that the man was picked up along Elabuchi road and taken to their base, Mile One police station.

Her post reads: “Police arrests man, alleged that he doesn’t have receipts for the two phones on him. Hear him: ‘In a taxi cap to Rivers State University for a meeting, ‘Operation Delta’ Nigeria Police Mile One just picked me up along Elabuchi road to the their base (mile one police station). They alleged that I am in possession of two cellphones without receipt. Good Nigerian should draw the attention of the mile one DPO.”

Going through the comment section, one Nnamdi David Ezeala revealed how he was also arrested by the same officers along with some of his club members. He added that they seized their banner and drank their four cartons of beer before arriving at the police station.
He said: "Me and my club members were arrested by the same criminals from M/1 eagle crack during d club meeting in 1st week of August. The took our club banner, seized our minute from me (secretary) and hid them, drank all our four crates of beer before we could get to their station, detained us (23 of us) for two days with d allegation of 1) Plotting to over throw the government. 2) Cultism and 3) Illicit druggery."

Ezeala further added that the police officers are not under the Mile One division but work under the state’s commissioner of police.
