Vice president Yemi Osinbajo has advised Nigerian youth to collaborate more on projects that will benefit them and also boost the nation’s capacity in innovation and technology.
Osinbajo said this when he received a delegation of young Nigerian innovators and beneficiaries of grants from the Growth and Employment (GEM) project, an initiative of the federal government under the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Premium Times reports.
NAIJ.com gathered that the GEM project is focused on empowering young Nigerian innovators and entrepreneurs with sustainable and innovative business models that will create more jobs for Nigerians and contribute to the nation’s economic growth.

The vice president: “I am happy that everyone is a co-founder; it speaks to what we say about collaboration and working together, and also with international players.”
He commended the efforts of the young entrepreneurs who showcased and presented their business models at the meeting.
The entrepreneurs were selected following the Aso Villa Demo Day (AVDD), a technological innovation competition organised by the Presidency earlier in the year.
The project coordinator of the GEM Project, Ugo Ikemba, thanked the vice president for all the support the Buhari administration has given to the project since its inception.
He assured that the project will continue to support Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by enabling them get more access to funding.

The director general of Nigerian Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Jelani Aliyu, also thanked Presidency for providing leadership that supports and empowers young Nigerians to dream and innovate.
NAIJ.com previously reported that Osinbajo urged youths in the country to take their destinies in their hands by taking up leadership roles through innovative ideas.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Osinbajo gave the advice at the 2017 national youth convention of the Youth Ministry Church of the Lord Prayer Fellowship on Saturday, December 2, in Abuja.
The report said Osinbajo, who was represented by the Chaplain of the Villa Chapel, Sheyi Malomo, said that now was the time for youths to start thinking of leading the nation.
