Spanish giants, Barcelona, has asked star attacker Lionel Messi to stop Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola from luring Andres Iniesta to the Etihad.
Respected Spanish media outlet, Diario Gol, can confirm that the City gaffer is keen on bringing the veteran midfielder to England.
But the Barca hierarchy do not want Iniesta to depart and have asked Messi to intervene.

Guardiola knows Iniesta well from their time together at the Nou Camp.
It is suggested he still thinks the 33-year-old has plenty to offer and wants him to have one final swansong in England.
Iniesta has been an integral cog at Barcelona since making his debut in 2002.

But he’s now in the twilight of his career and is facing stiff competition from Philippe Coutinho.
Iniesta has made 31 appearances in all competitions with Barca cruising in La Liga.
They are eight points clear of Atletico Madrid in second spot.
