Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante was left out the Blues squad that lost 1-0 to Manchester City at the Etihad after he reportedly fainted in training, ESPN reports.
Kante was surprisingly missing from Antonio Conte's starting XI despite making the trip to Manchester as Chelsea made claims the Frenchman was ill.
According to the Telegraph, sources confirmed the France international fainted in the dressing room after Chelsea's training session two days before the match.

The incident scared his teammates as the medical staff quickly attended to him and Kante was sent to specialists to undergo series of tests after regaining consciousness amid fear from a hear problem.

There was no underlying problem after conducting the tests but Chelsea decided not risk Kante for the match against City when he disclosed he was still not feeling fine on matchday.
There were claims that the fainting could have been caused by the extreme cold temperatures caused by the the Siberian blast but no medical report has stated.
Chelsea would not have risked Kante's health when the news broke of the sudden death of Fiorentina captain Davide Astori on Sunday morning.
The Blues are confident of Kante's recovery as sources revealed he will be fit for the games against Crystal Palace and Barcelona in the coming days.
Pep Guardiola's side recorded a comfortable victory against Chelsea in Kante's absence as City set a new record for the completed number of passes numebring to 902 and Conte's men failed to register a shot on target.
Chelsea's only hope of getting a silverware this season is to win the Champions League which could be a tall order as they have to go past Barcelona at Nou Camp.
