- Austin Okocha becomes the latest star to be named as a member of the German Bundesliga ambassador

Former Nigerian captain Austin Okocha is the latest ex-international to be included in the Bundesliga Legends Network.
The 44-year-old former midfielder featured for Eintracht Frankfurt between 1992 and 1996, and scored 18 goals in 90 appearances for the club.
Known for his magical way of dribbling and passes distribution, the former Super Eagles playmaker lit the German topflight up for four season – a quality that qualifies him to be ranked among great players to have graced the league with exceptional skills and talent on display.

And according the official website of the German Bundesliga, Okocha’s membership makes him to become one of the Ambassadors of the German league.
“Sublime skills and tremendous tricks brought joy to fans of Eintracht Frankfurt and lit up Germany's top division for many years, and now it has been announced that footballing icon Jay-Jay Okocha is the latest star to join the Bundesliga Legends Network,”
“The newest member of an elite group of former playing greats to become part of the illustrious Bundesliga Legends Network, Okocha set Germany's playing fields alight between 1992 and '96, when the Nigerian ace scored 18 goals and provided 13 assists in 90 memorable matches for the team known as The Eagles."

The former Paris Saint Germain was among the Nigerian team that won the 1994 African Cup of Nations title in Tunisia, and then qualified the national team for their maiden World Cup appearance, where they crashed out at the round of 16 after losing 2-1 to Argentina.
Two years later, they won the Atlanta Olympic gold medal in the United States – a feat that as at then had never being achieved by the football power house Brazil.
He also won some individual awards, but never won the most prestigious individual award on the African continent – the Caf Africa’s best player award in his entire playing career.
Few other members of the Bundesliga Legends Network are Lother Matthaus, Anthony Baffoe and Bun-Kum Cha.
