Pep Guardiola is reportedly plotting a surprise transfer raid for Barcelona's veteran midfielder Andres Iniesta.
According to the Daily Mirror, the Spain international has been one of the best playmakers in the world for up to a decade, and Guardiola is seemingly bent on a reunion with Iniesta.
Guardiola remains a fan after previously helping Iniesta reach some of the best form of his career under his management and guidance in his three seasons with Barcelona.

According to the Mirror, Iniesta could be available following the January signing of Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool which could limit his playing time if the Brazilian settles in the midfield role.
Ernesto Valverde will surely not want to phase out the ageing star out of his first 11 too soon, but if it does happen, City would take no chances of signing the veteran.
