- Paul Pogba has been warned by Manchester United to step up or be fired by the end of the season
- The 24-year-old has had countless issues with Jose Mourinho in recent times over playing style
- Meanwhile, Man United chiefs have made it clear they will back the manager regardless of what happens
Manchester United chiefs have reportedly issued Paul Pogba and his struggling teammates an ultimatum to work with Jose Mourinho or risk being sold at the end of the season.
The 24-year-old returned to Old Trafford in the summer of 2016 in a deal worth £89 million, but has failed to make a meaningful impact that could justify the heavy price tag slammed on him by Juvetus two seasons back.
Instead, he has been involved in several clashes with the manager over his tactics on match days, and United executives have warned the Frenchman to mend his relationship with the coach, otherwise, he and his cohorts will not be wearing the red jersey next season.

Meanwhile, the former Chelsea boss, who was speculated to quit United earlier in the season, after just about 18 months into his contract signed a new deal until 2020. And the contract extension was greeted by talks of a rift between the manager and United’s record signing, Pogba.
This development led to the former Juventus midfielder being relegated to the bench in a couple of game – one of which was their UEFA Champions League encounter against Sevilla in Spain last month.
While Pogba’s absence in their 2-1 win over Liverpool on Saturday, March 10 at Old Trafford was due to an injury he picked up in their last training session on Friday.
With less noise concerning the discord between the two, the Independent reports that it was made clear to Pogba and his representatives that the club would back Mourinho in any future fall-out.
