- The World Cup will arrive Nigeria on a four-day visit on Wednesday, March 7
- The trophy will go on a tour in Abuja and Lagos before departing on Saturday, 10

The original FIFA World Cup trophy will arrive in Nigeria on Wednesday, March 8, and will touch down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
Officials have said the minister and the entire NFF top ranked officers will have the first view of the trophy on the aircraft before it leaves the airport and will make its way to the Transcorp Hilton Hotel for a press conference.
The iconic prize of world football will then be on its way to the Presidential Villa, Abuja where President Muhammadu Buhari will have a feel of the trophy and deliver a welcome remark, and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Dalung and other members of the federal eexecutive council will view the trophy.

The trophy and its accompanying team will then fly into Lagos on Friday morning, March 9, to be received by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and members of his cabinet as well as NFF President Amaju Pinnick and NFF 1st Vice President Seyi Akinwunmi.
A dinner is planned for the Eko Hotels and Suites, while there will be a consumer viewing of the coveted diadem at the Tafawa Balewa Square on Saturday, March 10, before the trophy departs Nigerian shores in the evening of Saturday.
This is the fourth Global Tour by the FIFA World Cup Trophy, and the third time it would be visiting Nigeria.

It will be Nigeria's sixth participation at showpeice and the Super Eagles will playing in Group D, alongside Argentina, Iceland ad Croatia.
The tournament is expected to kick off in June with 32 countries participating from different federations of FIFA.
