- A pro-Buhari group asked politicians to stop printing campaign posters juxtaposed with President Buhari’s picture
- It said electorates would think the duo has the same characteristics
- The group said those not electable would not be deceived by this move
The National Coordinator of the Buhari Campaign Organisation (BCO) has called on political contestants to stop printing the face of President Muhammadu Buhari in their campaign posters.
Daily Trust reports that Alhaji Danlafi Garba Pasali said the juxtaposition of President Buhari’s picture with faces of other politicians was wrong.

He said this would give the impression that the politician had the same characteristics with the president.
He said: “Every contestant confident on the acceptability of his personality to the electorate needs not print his campaign poster carrying his photo and that of Buhari together to send a message to the public that he is together with Buhari in principle and practice,” he maintained.
“Every contestant should be on his own in terms of printing campaign posters. If you are not electable by the electorate, even if you print your campaign poster carrying your photo and that of President Buhari to deceive the people, I believe the electorate should differentiate between you and Buhari and they should not elect you,” the BCO national coordinator observed.
Meanwhile, a group, Buhari Victory Mobilisers, said that it is targeting five million supporters for President Muhammadu Buhari ahead of the 2019 elections.
The Punch reports that this was explained by Chief Law Madu who is the leader of the group.
He said their focus was to promote good governance and ensure the re-election of Buhari should he decide to seek a second term in office.
Madu said they have realised that President Buhari has done well to seek re-election and described him as a man of honour.
