It was reported that using the toilets comes with a lot of discomfort such as large flies, and terrible odours coupled with the fact that most of the gents are buried on the floor which make it impossible for anyone to sit on.
Despite all these deficiencies, fees are pasted at the entrance of the toilet. The use of the facility for urination attracts a fee of N20; a visitor has to pay N50 for defecation and N100 for bathing. The most appalling aspect of the payment is that the user must come with the exact denomination to pay for the particular service they require.

A top official of the Kano state government, who wanted to use the toilet on Friday, March 9, was turned back because of lack of ‘change,’ until he was forced to forfeit the balance to the managers.
The official remarked: “We never knew that this type of abomination was going on in this airport." He talked about the man collecting the illegal fees. Attempts to speak with operatives of Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), at the airport proved futile.
