In the last 12 days, Abdulmumin Jibrin has become the most popular Nigerian politician after he blew the whistle on his colleagues as regards the budget padding scandal.

Jibrin has accused four leaders of the House, including the Speaker, of corruption in connection with the 2016 budget.
Who is Abdulmumin Jibrin? Below are 10 facts you probably did not know before now:
1. Abdulmumin Jibrin was born on September 9, 1976. He is only 39 years of age, a considerably young age in Nigerian politics.
2. Abdulmumin Jibrin won his first election into a political post at the age of 34. In 2011, he won an election to represent Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency of Kano State on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He replaced Ubale Jakada Kiru of the now defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP).

3. Abdulmumin Jibrin is well established in the business world. He attended the London Business School in 2009, Harvard Business School from 2009 to 2010, International Business House, London 2009 and European Institute of Business Administration, France, 2009. He also obtained an MBA from the Swiss Business School, Zurich, Switzerland in 2014.

4. He is the chairman and chief executive officer of the Green Forest Group Limited. Green Forest Group is interested in property development, oil and gas/energy, agriculture, construction engineering (consultancy), and other business interests.
5. At a relatively young age, Jibrin possessed an enviable CV, courtesy of his many forays into business institutions. He was a lecturer at the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, where he taught International Relations, shortly before coming to the House.
6. He was charged to court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in October 2011. He appeared in court with the former governor of Nasarawa State, Aliyu Akwe Doma, alongside five others. They were faced with a corruption charge to the tune of N15 billion. He was later acquitted in December, 2012.

7. Jibrin has had an altercation with the former finance minister, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. He reportedly walked her out of a meeting, the finance committee of which he was the head was to hold with her on the state of the economy in preparation for the consideration of the 2014 budget.
8. Jibrin along with 37 members of the House, defected to the All Progressives Congress from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in December, 2013. Following his defection he became more vocal in condemning the PDP and anything it stood for.
9. In 2000, Jibrin was given the Award of Life Membership by the Students' Union Government, University of Abuja, Nigeria. The United Nations Global Peace Foundation conferred on Abdulmumin an award of Peace Ambassador in 2009.
He was also honoured as a World Youth Ambassador by the Youth Federation for World Peace in the same year 2010.

10. In March 2012, Abdulmumin became the third Nigerian to be selected for participation at the prestigious France's International Visitor Leadership Program organised by the French Government through the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
