Super Eagles superstar John Ogu has come out to give account of some of the things that transpired while he was still in search for top clubs to sign him.
NAIJ.com understands that the Nigerian international had issues with his former club Academica as the Portuguese club refused to terminate his contract.
The 29-year was under contract with the Portuguese side and no team could officially approach him to sign a contract until his deal with the club expired.

The Super Eagles midfielder was neglected by his former club as he was not given playing time since the 2nd year in his contract with the Students until he signed a mouthwatering deal with Isreali top side Hapoel Be'er Sheva in 2014.

Ogu posted on his Twitter account: "Many Never knew @OnaziOgenyi bought me a ticket to Rome to stay with him until I get a club. I Appreciate you bro always .God bless you.
"Many Never knew I was at Lazio training ground watching my brother @OnaziOgenyi train with his team then.
"If only football clubs were just a street football kind of thin.I would have been playing with Lazio then . Truth is then I was praying for a trial then but God knows best," he added.

NAIJ.com gathered that Ogu was awarded the the Best Foreign Player in Israel in 2016.
The combative midfielder played a key role for the Isreali club as they won back to back League titles in 2016 and 2017.
You may recall that Ogu was an unused substitute in the Super Eagles squad that lost 2-0 to South Africa on June 10, 2017 at the Godswill Akpabio stadium.
