A disabled woman, Doris, is currently detained at the Mercy Light Hospital in Kiambu where she gave birth six months ago.
Doris gave birth to a bouncing baby boy in January 2017. She named him Gift. God had been kind to her.
Unfortunately, her happiness was short-lived. She developed complications and the aftermath of the specialized treatment saw her bill soar to KSh 480,000 (N1,460,416).

Doris
Her parents could not afford to settle her bill. They are small scale farmers. So, a fundraiser was organised and they were able to raise KSh 150,000 (N456,380).
Still, the hospital needs KSh 330,000 (N1,004,036)in order to discharge Doris and her boy.

Doris says that she has texted everyone on her contact list to no avail. She needs to leave hospital and take care of her baby. Unfortunately, her man took to his heels shortly after she was admitted to hospital.
