The Super Eagles of Nigeria are set to battle the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in the third round of the 2018 World Cup qualifier.
The crucial encounter between both African giants is expected to take place in August 27, 2017 as both teams will be looking to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Former Eagles manager Adegboye Onigbinde believes that captain Mikel Obi and Victor Moses will play key roles in Nigeria's qualification to the forthcoming World Cup tournament.

The duo were not available for the Super Eagles in their 2-0 defeat to South Africa at the Godswill Akpabio stadium in Uyo on June 10, 2017.

Onigbinde said: “Nigeria’s loss to South Africa was due to the absence of Mikel and Moses.
"I am not saying other players are not good enough to play for the national team, but the experience, the inspiration and leadership qualities of Mikel and Moses would have made the great difference.
Both Mikel and Moses can save Rohr’s job - Adegboye Onigbinde.
“I noticed we lost due to lack of experienced players who can create chances with ease. I believe both Mikel and Moses can save Rohr’s job if they are available in the next match.

“I am confident that the Super Eagles will beat Cameroon, at least in the first fixture.”
A win for Nigeria in the match against the current AFCON champions will give the Super Eagles a nine-point in head start before going into the reverse fixtures of the World Cup qualifying draw.
