- Philippe Coutinho is said to have told his Barcelona teammates that David Luiz wants to join them
- The Brazilian defender has been out of favor this season under Chelsea coach Antonio Conte
Brazilian football star Philippe Coutinho has reportedly told his Barcelona teammates that Chelsea defender David Luiz wants to join the Catalans at the end of the season.
After spending two years at French club Paris-Saint-Germain, David Luiz returned to Chelsea in 2016, and he enjoyed a stellar first season back in west London helping Chelsea win the Premier League and reach the FA Cup final.
But his relationship this season with Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has gone sour as he is no longer a guaranteed starter at Stamford Bridge.
The latest reports in Spain suggest Coutinho has got wind of his countryman's unhappiness and desire to move on to pastures new.
According to the report by Don Balon, Coutinho has told fellow Barcelona stars that Luiz is eager to head to the Nou Camp.

Balon also claimed that Barcelona will make their move to lure David Luiz to the Nou Camp at the end of the ongoing League season in Europe.
Earlier, NAIJ.com had reported how Spanish club Barcelona contacted reigning Premier League champions Chelsea over the signing of their star Brazilian defender David Luiz.
David Luiz has been left out of Chelsea's squad since the end of October with many reports claiming that the Blues' manager Antonio Conte no longer needs him in his team.
The former Paris-Saint-Germain star is currently injured, but he has lost his place in the Blues' squad to youngster Andreas Christensen.
