A prominent Kaduna-based Islamic preacher, Ahmad Gumi, has faulted the glamorous wedding of Fatima Ganduje and Idris Ajimobi, describing it as a disgrace to Islam and parenting in Northern Nigeria, Premium Times reports.
NAIJ.com noted that Gumi also warned the people of Kano to be cautious of the "wrath of God", citing the example of the crisis in Borno state, Premium Times reports.

According to the cleric, the bride and groom “did not conduct themselves with decorum and respect”. He blamed their parents for not guiding them to do the right thing.
He said: “Look at what happened in Kano. That thing really upset me. The daughter of the governor cuddling in the presence of people. Yet it was the same state that sanctioned an actress for cuddling someone in a musical video. Now the daughter of the governor has done it which means it is now legal.
“Where is the so-called hisbah in the state? This is the kind of leaders we elect. I am calling on the people of Kano to fear Allah. This is the height of immorality and to also remind you of what happened to Borno state. You should not provoke Allah.”

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that President Muhammadu Buhari and the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tunubu, were among the dignitaries who arrived in Kano on Saturday, March 3, for the wedding ceremony of the daughter of Governor Umar Ganduje, Fatima, and the son of Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo state, Idris.
The president sought Fatima’s hand on behalf of the groom’s family, from the ‘guardian of the bride', Bola Tinubu.
The sum of N50,000 was paid by the president as dowry, after which the union was formalised by the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II.
