President Muhammadu Buhari and the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tunubu, were among the dignitaries who arrived in Kano on Saturday, March 3, for the wedding ceremony of the daughter of Governor Umar Ganduje, Fatima, and the son of Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo state, Idris.
According to Premium Times, the president sought Fatima’s hand on behalf of the groom’s family, from the ‘guardian of the bride', Bola Tinubu.

NAIJ.com gathers that the sum of N50,000 was paid by the president as dowry; after which, the union was formalised by the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II.

President Buhari reportedly headed back to Abuja immediately after the wedding.
Also at the ceremony, were at least, 20 state governors; including the chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum, Abdulaziz Yari.

Recall that NAIJ.com previously reported that President Muhammadu Buhari was expected to attend the wedding ceremony of Hajiya Fatima, daughter of Kano state Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
The marriage was scheduled to be contracted at the Emir’s palace, under the supervision of the monarch, Malam Muhammad Sanusi ll.
The state commissioner of information, Malam Muhammad Garba disclosed that 25 serving governors would attend the wedding fatiha.
