Arsene Wenger expressed his frustrations that his team's pre-season was disrupted by some of his players who contacted food poisoning.
The coach lamented how the extensive travelling to different climates wasn't "ideal physically" for the players after the team left Australia for China.
Per Mertesacker and Olivier Giroud did not take part in the victory over Bayern Munich, while Sead Kolasinac had to come off before the break.

Asked if the long-haul flights to different time zones and weather conditions are worth it, Wenger said: "It is a good question. Unfortunately sometimes I give bad answers to good questions.
"But if you ask me if it is ideal physically to prepare, I say certainly not.
"Does it have other advantages? Yes, because we can meet fans all over the world. The bonding in the team is easier as well because we live together for two weeks.
"So on that front it can be very positive. But the real answer will be given by the way we start in the championship."
