Both London clubs have met previously 190 times in all competitions. The Gunners have won 74, drawn 54 and lost 62 of those encounters.
3. Involvement of new signings
Arsenal completed the signing of Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac before their pre-season tour of Asia and Arsene Wenger was able to integrate his new signings into the team well enough. On the other hand, Chelsea left their summer signings a little bit late as some of their new signings did not take part fully in the club's pre-season tour.
