Over the years Nigerians have always been scared of traveling long distance by road due to the high rate of crime and insecurity in the country.
A young lady has come out to narrate a very traumatic experience she encountered while on a road trip from Lagos to Abuja. The lady who was identified as Helen Akunna Nwaogwugwu disclosed that it took her 3 days to get to her destination.
Nwaogwugwu exclusively narrated to NAIJ.com that if not for the help of soldiers when their bus broke down at Okene, they would have been robbed or probably killed by unknown men.

She revealed that: “I've been a loyal customer for years but this with this recent experience, I will NEVER patronize them. Departed Lagos since Sunday, July 23, only to arrive Abuja on Tuesday, July 25.. The BUS we left Lagos with broke down somewhere in ILESHA @about 2am Monday, July 24, it took them about 10hrs to send a rescue bus from Ibadan. We left Ilesha at about 12noon only for the bus to break down somewhere in Okene (a very deadly spot) Thank God for the soldiers that were patrolling @that time we could have been robbed or even killed if not for the wonderful soldiers God sent to rescue us...Their boss sent for more Hilux and within 10 minutes we had about 6 to conveyed us to the nearest ABC terminal (Lokoja).. We arrived Lokoja at about 7.30pm and ABC TRANSPORT could not provide a bus to convey us to Abuja(a journey of about 2hrs)We were abandoned in the cold till about 5am Tuesday morning before another Bus showed up to take us to Abuja ...I lost my phone in between all these stress and I'm down with malaria.”
