The Speaker of the Kano state House of Assembly, Alhaji Abdullahi Yusuf Ata, has been impeached.
According to reports, the speaker was impeached on Monday, July 30, alongside two other principal officers.

NAIJ.com gathers that the impeachment plan was hatched after the 40-member Assembly resumed from its two-month recess.
The member representing the Warawa constituency, Labaran Madari, raised the impeachment motion, which was seconded by the lone member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abdullahi Muhammed.

Recall that NAIJ.com previously reported that members of the Kano state House of Assembly voted to impeach the speaker of the house, Alhaji Abdullahi Yusuf Ata.
The vote to impeach the speaker was secretly carried out on Sunday night, May 13.
