The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said it is disturbed about reports that accredited pressmen and observers are being arrested and prevented from operating in some polling units in the Osun state supplementary governorship election.
The electoral body took to Twitter on Thursday, September 27, to expressed its displeasure over the development.

NAIJ.com notes that INEC tweeted: “INEC is disturbed about reports that accredited media and observers are being arrested or prevented from operating in some polling units. This is being taken up with the security agencies.”

The supplementary contest is a straight battle between Adeleke and Oyetola. However, other parties will be allowed to participate. It will be taking place at seven polling units spanning through four local government areas, namely Ife North (one polling unit), Ife South (two polling unit), Osogbo (one polling unit) and Orolu (three polling unit).

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have accused each other of cloning permanent voter's cards.
The allegations were made by both political parties in separate statements on Tuesday, September 25.
The APC was accused by the PDP chairman in Osun state, Soji Adagunodo, of cloning PVCs at the Government House in order to rig election at the polling units where the supplementary election will take place on Thursday, September 27.
