Arsenal defeated Everton 3-1 at the Emirates, but conceded top four finish to rivals Liverpool who thrashed Middlesbrough 3-0 at Anfield.
The Gunners took the lead in the 8th minute when Hector Bellerin tapped in a rebound from Danny Welbeck's shot.
Alexis Sanchez made it 2-0 for the home side in the 24th minute but his goal was not enough to secure a Champions League spot for the London club.

Romelu Lukaku pulled one back for the visitors in the 58th minute when he netted from the spot to put the Toffees in the game.
Aaron Ramsey scored late in the game to make it 3-1 for the Gunners.
Liverpool however condemned Wenger's men to a top four finish after defeating relegated Middlesbrough 3-0 at Anfield.
Goals from Wijnaldum, Coutinho and Lallana gave the Reds a much deserved victory at home.

Klopp's men came into the game under a lot of pressure from the Gunners but managed to decimate Boro to ensure their qualification into Europe's biggest competition.
Arsenal finished the season with 75 points to stay 5th, while Liverpool made the 4th spot with 76 points.
Elsewhere, Manchester City crushed Watford 5-0 at Vicarage Road to secure a Champions League spot at the expense of Arsenal.

The Gunners have now failed to qualify for Europe's biggest competition for the first time since Arsene Wenger arrived at the club in 1996.
