Chelsea are on the verge of signing Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk for a record fee of £50million.
The Blues are ready to include Danish centre-back Andreas Christensen who is currently on loan to Borussia Monchengladbach in the deal for the Dutch defender.

Arsenal are set to miss out on Dijk's signature despite offering him a mouth-watering £150,000 a week deal, but the defender is bent on a move to Stamford Bridge.

NAIJ.com reports that the 25-year-old is nursing an ankle injury which he sustained in January and he is set to miss the rest of the season.
