- This was as a result of the brawl that took place over a girlfriend

Residents of Owheologbo community in Isoko north local government area of Delta state witnessed a rather shocking scenario when a fight broke out over a girlfriend and a life was lost to it. In addition to that, six houses including a secondary school building were burnt down.
NAIJ.com gathered that one Mr Dennis lost his life in the fight as he was reported to have been killed at his mother’s residence.
Irate youths acted as soon as they heard of the incident. They gathered themselves and set fire on the houses, cars and properties of those involved in the killing.

A source who does not want to be mentioned said the assailants ran away from the community to avoid being attacked by the mob.

Mr Emmanuel Egbabor, the chairman of Isoko north local government area confirmed the incident when he said the issue was all about a woman.
“When I was called, I alerted the police and soldiers, who immediately moved into the community,” he said.
He also revealed that that the security agents took the corpse away. “The Army and police have helped to restore peace in the community. I have advised them to carry out proper investigation into the incident.”

The Delta state police public relations officer, Mr Andrew Aniamaka, also confirmed the incident. He was quoted to have said “I have heard so too. But I am yet to get situation report on it from the Divisional Police Officer.”
