Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann has signed a new 5-year contract with club amidst speculation linking him to Manchester United.
The French star signed a new deal with the Spanish giants on Tuesday, June 10, 2017 that will keep him at the club till 2022.

According to reports, the 26-year-old's new contract made him the highest paid player in the club's history.

NAIJ.com earlier reported that Griezmann fueled speculation over potential move to the Old Trafford side.
The Rojiblancos are currently serving a transfer ban till January 2018, as the former Real Sociedad man has agreed to stay with the club through hard times.

Griezmann said: “The sanction of the CAS has fallen. Atletico can not recruit. With my sports adviser, Eric Olhats, we decided to stay."

“It’s a hard time for the club. It would be a blow to go now. We talked to the club and we will be back for next season,” he added.

The Atletico Madrid striker is a target for top European teams like rivals Real Madrid, Chelsea and PSG.
The 2016 La Liga best player of the year arrived at Calderon in 2014 from Real Sociedad.
