On Tuesday, July 25, four-storey building collapsed on Lagos Island at about 2.43pm at No 3 Massey Street, Lagos Island.
According to news reports, over 13 people survived the building collapse. They were rescued after rescue operations commenced. The rescue is still ongoing.

This is especially sad as NAIJ.com earlier reported that a building collapsed in Meiran, Agbado-Oke Odo Local Council Development Area of Lagos state.
The Rapid Response Squad in a press statement said the dead were a mother and daughter. A mother and daughter died in the disaster.

The statement read: "A collapsed building this afternoon claimed the lives of a mother and her daughter while they were washing cloth under an uncompleted building in Seidu Ekeleji Street, Alaro, Meiran, Agbado - Oke Odo area of Lagos.
"Although, another daughter was rescued live from the scene, the mother and older daughter were brought out dead from rumbles."
