Pique had posted a picture on Instagram on Sunday alongside Neymar with the caption “stays” but the defender has now clarified that it was wishful thinking with Neymar’s future yet to be decided.
“It was just a personal opinion,” Pique said about the Instagram post.
“It’s not up to me to say if he stays or goes. He is the one who has to say that. But I hope that he stays.”
The Spanish defender said it would be better if Neymar stays at Camp Nou as PSG cannot afford him the recognition he deserve playing there.

He added: “There is no better place than with us and we have tried to convince him of that.
“The French league, with all due respect, if you don’t win the Champions League there then he is not going to get the recognition that he deserves playing there.”
