Being a manager of a top football club comes with it's thrill - especially when all can be said to be going just fine.
For instance every manager will envy Josep Pep Guardiola at the moment as his side is doing tremendiously well, breaking records with every game they play.
However, a club managerial position can be a source of nightmare if every plan of the manager goes wrong and the players can not seem to replicate these tactics.
And when this happens, it is the manager and not the players, that takes the fall.
Today at NAIJ.com 2017 in review, we will be taking a look at top seven managers that were sacked this season.
1. Carlo Ancelotti:
Carlo Ancelotti
Ancelotti is the only manager to have won the UEFA Champions League three times and reached four finals (three finals and two victories with Milan, and one victory with Real Madrid).
Sadly, Ancelotti who is regarded as as one of the best and most successful managers of all time was sacked by Bayern Munich after a string of poor performances and also lingering rumours that he had lost control of his dressing room due to his strict training methods.
Presently Ancelotti is clubless and there have been series of reports linking him with a move back to Chelsea.
2. Vincenzo Montella:
Vincenzo Montella
Montella joined AC Milan in 2016 after a successful spell at Fiorentina. He won the Supercoppa Italiana, defeating Juventus 4–3 in a penalty shootout after a 1–1 draw following extra time.
However, Montella was sacked on November 27, 2017 following a 0–0 home draw against Torino after some poor results in the league at the beginning of the 2017–18 Serie A season.

3. Tony Pulis:
Tony Pulis
Pulis was appointed head coach of West Brom on January 1, 2015, after successful spell at Stoke City and Crystal Palace but he was eventually sacked as West Brom manager on November 20, 2017, after a bad run of results where they had won only four of their last 22 Premier League games. He was replaced by Alan Pardew.
4. Slaven Bilic:
Slaven Bilic
Bilić was appointed manager of English Premier League club West Ham United on June 9, 2015 on a three-year contract.
In his first Premier League game on August 9, he defeated Arsenal 2–0 at the Emirates Stadium.
As the sad end of football management goes, Bilic was sacked at West Ham on November 4, 2017, following a run of poor results in the Premier League.
5. Ronald Koeman:
Ronald Koeman
Koeman was confirmed as Everton's manager on June 14, 2016, after his successful spell at Everton.
He led Everton to Europa League qualification in his first season, before eventually being sacked on October 23, 2017, after his side fell into the relegation zone, following a 5–2 home defeat against Arsenal the previous day.
The Dutch manager later stated his belief that the failure to sign Olivier Giroud in the summer transfer window contributed to his sacking.
6. Craig Shakespeare:
Craig Shakespeare
Shakespeare began his first team managerial career after Ranieri was sacked on February 23, 2017 on a caretaker level.
His first game in charge was a 3–1 victory over Liverpool in the Premier League.

On March 12, he was named as the new manager of Leicester City. Shakespeare became the first Premier League manager ever to achieve 3 goals per game in his first three matches in charge.
Then on April 1, he became the only English manager to win his first four league matches.
Shakespeare was fired in October 17 after series of poor performances left the club in the bottom three of the standings and in danger of relegation.
7. Frank de Boer:
Frank de Boer
De Boer was announced as the new manager of Premier League side Crystal Palace on June 26, 2017, replacing the recently retired Sam Allardyce but was sacked 10 weeks later when Palace lost their first four league matches of the season without scoring a single goal – the first team in 93 years to have begun a top-flight season in such a fashion.
