Vanguard is reporting that former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar, stunned his supporters and journalists on Thursday, December 7, after emerging from a meeting with former Head of State, Ibrahim Babangida, in Minna.
According to the publication, the former VP emerged with a long face, and refused to speak with journalists or even his supporters.
The publication reports that Atiku was allegedly told by IBB, to forget his presidential ambition.

The Nation is reporting that President Muhammadu Buhari challenged those who want to contest against him in 2019 to an integrity test.
The president posed the challenge while speaking at an interactive session with community leaders and stakeholders in Kano state.
Buhari said Nigerians would not let treasury looters return to power.
In his words: “Those who ruled Nigeria without vision and looted the nation’s treasury are the same people boasting that they will displace the APC government and return to office.
“We will wait and see, if they think Nigerians are ignorant. They have the guts of declaring their intention to reclaim office.”

The Guardian is reporting that immediate past president, Goodluck Jonathan, and former Head of State, Ibrahim Babangida, have begun prevailing on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to conform to the party’s Port-Harcourt agreement and zoning principle, and concede the national chairmanship position to the South-west.
Both men took the initiative ahead of the party’s national convention; as up till Thursday, December 7, the party’s South-south zone had yet to show any signs of compromise.
The publication however disclosed that a meeting by the party’s South-west stakeholders indicated that the zone could reach a truce and prune down its six national chairmanship aspirants to two.

ThisDay is reporting that during his recent two-day visit to Kano state, President Muhammadu Buhari expressed confidence in his re-election bid, as shown by his immense popularity in the Northern state.
The president reportedly stated that the overwhelming reception he received from the state’s residents was a clear message to the opposition in the country.
At an interactive session with community leaders in the state, Buhari stated: “Definitely, since this is partisan politics, I think it has sent a clear message to the opposition.”
The president noted that huge crowds had turned out to get a glimpse of him, as he went round the city to inaugurate projects.

Meanwhile, Punch is reporting that the National Judicial Council disclosed that it had recommended Justices Adeniyi Ademola and Segun Tokode of the Federal High Court for compulsory retirement over acts of misconduct.
The Council reportedly made the claim despite the fact that Justice Ademola claimed to have voluntarily resigned.
Soji Oye, the NJC’s director of information, released a statement which stated that the 2 judges had been recommended to President Buahari for compulsory retirement at the Council’s meeting on Wednesday, December 6.
