- Obiano is making security a priority this yuletide, and has warned criminals to stay clear of his state
The Anambra state governor, Willie Obiano, on Wednesday, December 13, launched a new security initiative in the state, tagged ‘Operation Udoka’.
The development was made public on the Facebook page of the Anambra Broadcasting Service.

NAIJ.com gathers that in commencement of the event, the governor arrived at the venue, fully decked out in police uniform.
The new initiative will take place throughout the yuletide season, and will include operatives from all security agencies including the military, paramilitary and vigilante.
Obiano aims to offer Anambra residents a crime-free Christmas; and as such, is prioritizing security in order to ensure that the state remains the safest in the nation.
The governor has sent a clear and strong warning to miscreants and criminals to stay away from the state.

NAIJ.com previously reported that the incumbent governor of Anambra state and candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Willie Obiano, emerged winner of the November 18 governorship election in the state.
457,311 voters were accredited for the election and the total votes cast were 448,771.
Obiano polled a total number of 234,071 while the candidate of the APC, Tony Nwoye, polled 98,752. The candidate of PDP, Oseloka Obaze, polled 70,293; while the candidate of UPP, Osita Chidoka, polled 7,903 votes.
