Some fans of Super Eagles forward Abdullahi Shehu have taken to his Instagram page to beg the fullback to return back the three points FIFA deducted from Nigeria in the World Cup qualification for his participation in the Algerian match despite collecting two yellow cards in previoius games.
Shehu who plays as a left back for Cypriot side Anorthosis Famagusta posted a throwback picture of himself and fellow Super Eagles teammate Victor Moses with the caption "Throwback training with @victormoses for the Supereagles #tbt"
Controversy however started when some of his fans on Instagram start clamouring that it was his fault that Nigeria did not finish the World Cup qualifying series unbeaten and he should return back the deducted three points.

"@shehu.official pls return my 3points and 3goals" a comment by icemat10 reads.
Another fan, lagunious_maximus_iv commented" I don’t blame you personally..But I would still like the 3 points back please.."
NAIJ.com also observed that some of his core fans stood by him, hailed him and also offered their unending support.
Instagram user,anassyusuf wrote, "Senior man ba, Allah ya kara ma lafia" other fans joining in shoiwing their support wrote "Wow nice sir @shehu.official" "God blessss u my boss ashehu up up 9ja"
NAIJ.com previously reported that The hammer of the world football governing body (FIFA) fell on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Tuesday, December 12, after the Super Eagles of Nigeria fielded an ineligible player in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Nigeria used former Kano Pillars' player Shehu Abdullahi against Algeria in their 2018 World Cup qualifier in Constantine on Friday, November 10, a game that ended 1-1.

But according to FIFA, the Super Eagles were not supposed to use the player against Algeria as he had received two yellow cards in previous games.
