- Ronaldo reportedly claimed he wants to return his Ballon d'Or he won this year
- The Portuguese superstar made a shock admission following the 3-0 El Clasico defeat
- Ronaldo won five titles with Los Blancos in 2017, including last season’s Champions League and La Liga
The Los Blancos sustained a painful 3-0 defeat at the hands of Barcelona this past weekend in the El Clasico and they fell further behind their fierce rivals, in the process.
It was after this game that Ronaldo told his teammates that he wants to return the Ballon D’or because he didn’t deserve it, despite the other players telling him that he did.
Mundo Deportivo suggest that after having spent time with his family during Christmas, Ronaldo wants to return the accolade to France Football and has already contacted the FFF chief to make his decision known to him.

After matching Messi's five titles, Ronaldo told France Football: “I’m the best player in history, in the good moments and the bad ones.
“I respect everyone’s preferences, but I’ve never seen anyone better than me. I have always thought that. No footballer can do the things I can.
"There’s no player more complete than me. I play well with both feet, I’m quick, powerful, good with the head, I score goals, I make assists.

"There are guys who prefer Neymar or Messi. But I tell you - there’s no-one more complete than me."
While Ronaldo rightly won the Ballon d’Or award for 2017, the former Manchester United star won’t be a leading contender for next year’s award if he takes his recent form into 2018.
Ronaldo has netted just four La Liga goals this season compared to Messi’s 15, Madrid sit fourth in the table and trail leaders Barca by 14 points.
