The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting at its national secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja on Thursday, November 30.
Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state who is the chairman of the PDP Governors Forum was absent from the meeting.
Governors David Umahi of Ebonyi state and Ben Ayade of Cross River state were also reportedly absent, Daily Sun reports.

Other PDP governors absent at the beginning of the meeting were Governor Ishaku Darius of Taraba state and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu state.

At the meeting, the party ratified plans for its national convention scheduled for December 9.
Briefing newsmen on the outcome of the meeting, national publicity secretary of the party, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, said over 2,800 delegates made up of special and statutory delegates are expected to participate at the convention to elect the party’s next National Working Committee.
He said the composition of the Convention Planning Committee and the amended guidelines for the event has been approved
Adeyeye, however, refused to disclose the names of members of the convention committee.
“We are going to organise a free fair and credible party convention. Nigerians still believe in the PDP. Nobody will have any issue. We are not under any threat that there will be a parallel convention. We are optimistic that we are going to have a successful convention,” he said.
Those at present at the NEC meeting were Governors Ibrahim Dakwambo, Nyesom Wike, Emmanuel Udom and Ifeanyi Okowa of Gombe, Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Delta states respectively.

Governor Henry Serieke Dickson of Bayelsa state and Abia state governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, were represented by their deputies.
Others in attendance were former Senate president, David Mark; former PDP chairmen, Prince Vincent Ogbulafor, Ahmadu Ali, Okwesilieze Nwodo, among other party big wigs.
NAIJ.com earlier reported that the NEC meeting started few minutes after the Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led national caretaker committee met with chairmanship aspirants at Wadata Plaza, Abuja.
Meanwhile, report has it that political infighting is threatening to mar the coming convention of the PDP.
The crisis was reportedly triggered by the disagreement over the list of panelists to conduct the ward delegates election ahead of the party’s convention.
A national chairmanship aspirant, Tunde Adeniran, has already petitioned the leadership of the party over the list.
