Nigeria's main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is set for its national convention on Saturday, December 9.
The party has released a list of its members to serve in its planning and sub-committees, drawn from different hierarchy and positions in the party.
A statement released by the national organising secretary of the party, Senator Abdul Ningi, stated that the committees will be inaugurated in Abuja on Monday, December 4.

“Members of the Main and Sub-Committees are enjoined to take this exercise as part of sacrifices in the process of rebuilding our great Party, the PDP,” the statement said.
NAIJ.com checks revealed that the main committee have six members which includes former Senate President; Dr Iyoechia Ayu, former minister; Dr Kema Chiwe and former senators; Odion Ugbesia and Duro Faseyi.
The accreditation committee have 10 members, constitutional amendments; 11 members, contact and mobilization; 31 members, electoral committee 37 members, entertainment and welfare; 34 members.
Others are medical committee with 23 members, publicity committee; 30 members, screening committee; 13 members, security committee; 35 members, transport committee; 29 members, venue and protocol; 26 members and secretariat 8 members.
Meanwhile, the national caretaker chairman of the PDP, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, has disclosed that aspirants with pending cases in court will not be disqualified from contesting the national chairmanship position.
Markafi made the declaration while responding to questions from newsmen on Saturday, November 11 in Kaduna, when Otunba Gbenga Daniel alongside his campaign entourage paid him a courtesy visit.
