The people of Numan, Demsa and Lamurde local government area of Adamawa state have called for immediate suspension of the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III; Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi; and the Lamido of Adamawa, Dr Muhammadu Aliyu Mustapha , New Telegraph reports.

NAIJ.com gathered that the call was made at a press conference held at the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) press centre on Thursday, December 7, by the leader of the communities, Griffith Kpakai, the Pene da Bwatiye.
He said this was due to their role in the attacks on their people.
The people alleged that these traditional rulers are the handlers of the ‘foreign attack dogs’ in the invasion of their land by the killer herdsmen.

They said: “These traditional rulers are not above the law, and the government should suspend them and investigate the role they played in the invasion of our land by the killer herdsmen.”
They also argued that if the traditional rulers in the southern part of the country could be disciplined, the same should be replicated in the north. The people described the perennial conflicts between herdsmen and farmers as a threat to the unity of the country.
Recall that NAIJ.com had previously reported that gunmen launched attacks on Lawaru and Dung communities in Demsa local government area of Adamawa state on Monday, December 4.
The attackers reportedly burnt down villages in their ways and attacked residents as they fled to safety, according to report confirmed by the chairman, Numan local government area.
