The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has commenced its nationwide registration for the 2018 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in over 700 centres.
The board’s registrar, Prof Is-haq Oloyede, in his advice to prospective candidates, warned that while they should beware of fraudulent operators, the date for registration will not be extended. He also said the application fee remains N5,000.

Fabian Benjamin, spokesperson for the board, said this on Thursday, December 7, through a statement adding that the deadline for the mock examination is set at Saturday, December 30.
The Punch reports that Oloyede, the JAMB registrar, had said in November that the 2018 UTME would run from March 9 to March 17 in about 620 Computer-Based Test centres nationwide.

He said: “We will also want to state clearly that the board does not post candidates to any examination town other than the one chosen by the candidate at the point of registration. Candidates are, however, advised to register on time before the available spaces in their town of choice are exhausted.
“The registration exercise started on Wednesday, December 6. The system is simple and convenient, and candidates are requested to do it by themselves to avoid being defrauded by anybody.
“Candidates who desire to register for the optional mock are also urged to do so as the platform will be withdrawn by December 30.
"Only those who have registered and indicated their interest on or before that time will be enlisted to participate.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) (Private), commonly referred to as WAEC GCE, is a twice-yearly exam meant for those who want to receive a West African Senior School Certificate.
The exam comes in two series. The first one usually happens in January/February with registration starting in October. The second one is held in August/September with registration starting in April.
The registration for the first series began on October 9, 2017. It will close on December 29, 2017, so if you want to make it, we recommend you to get a move on! But before you do, learn a little bit more about the exam and the registration process.
