In recent times, Nigerians pastors have been associated with the use of body guards either in church or at public gatherings. This act has also caused a lot of controversies among Nigerians.
Tackling this issue is popular Nigerian pastor, Apostle Johnson Suleman, who during a program in church revealed why men of God should not be criticized. He added that even Jesus Christ had armed bodyguards.

He said: “Any subject in the bible should unify Christians and not make them easily divided. When somebody or people are attacking men of God and posts his video to buttress what they are saying they are manipulating them and that is the height of manipulation. If you want to post a video, post the full video don’t just pick one part but let listen to the whole thing both before and after. I have discovered that those attacking men of God cannot stand an attack, if you speak against them they will insult or block you. The men of God you are attacking are ignoring you and I do not support when pastors begin to place curses on people. We are Christians. Maturity is the ability to disagree on doctrine and still remain friends. People will always criticize pastors even if Jesus was here, they will still criticize him. Jesus Christ got 12 disciples who were following him everywhere and the bible says Peter took a sword and cut off somebody’s ear and Jesus said to him keep your sword meaning that his disciples were armed. But today man of God has policemen around him, they criticize him immediately.”
