The New Patriotic Party's (NPP) Member of Parliament for Akwatia, Madam Mercy Adu Gyamfi, has delivered a speech in parliament for the first time since she joined the government's legislative body.
Earlier this year, the Member of Parliament for Akwatia, in the Eastern Region, became the talk of the town after delivering what many referred to as a dismal speech at Ghana's 60th anniversary celebrations.
Gyamfi who was a hairdresser operating a salon in Akwetia, before entering parliament was mocked at an event by her opponents for her inability to speak English fluently.

Recently speaking for the first time in parliament since the incident, Madam Gyamfi addressed the August House and exhibited her somewhat improved command of the English language since her last address at Ghana's 60th anniversary celebration ceremony.
To the mild amusement of some parliamentarians, Madam Gyamfi delivered her address and subsequently received a mighty round of applause and huge support from fellow members of the government's legislative body.
