M.Sc. degree holders are among the 43,806 applicants whom the Kaduna state government began screening for 25,000 primary school teaching positions on Wednesday, December 20, Vanguard reports.
Two M.Sc. degree holders in Biochemistry and Water Resources were seen among those on the list pasted on the notice board at Rimi College, Kaduna, which was one of the examination centers.

NAIJ.com gathers that applicants took part in examinations across the state’s 23 local government areas.
The centers were reportedly heavily guarded by officers from the police and Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
Mary Ambi, a permanent member of the Kaduna State Basic Education Board, stated that the only applicants who would subsequently be contacted for an oral interview afterwards, are those who score the minimum points and possess the required qualification.
For allegedly failing a competency test which was conducted in June, the Kaduna state government had announced plans to sack 21,780 primary school teachers in October.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that the Kaduna division of the National Industrial Court on Thursday, December 14, stopped the planned sack of 21,780 primary school teachers who failed the competency test organised by the state government.
The lawyer representing the teachers, Samuel Atum, had on October 30, filed a motion of ‘interlocutory injunction’ asking the court to restrain the government from dismissing or disengaging any teacher on the basis of the test conducted in June 2017.
