- Yet another person has come out to speak of his ordeal in the hands of SARS
- Simply identified as Ogeezle, he took to social media to narrate how he was stopped and extorted by the special force
- Joining the #EndSARS campaign, this would be one among many similar stories experienced by many Nigerians out there
The movement for the call to dissolve the Special Anti-Robbery Squad popularly known as SARS may only seem to be getting stronger as many Nigerians continue to share their brutal experiences in the hands of this force.
Among these many people is a young man simply identified as Ogeezle who took to his Twitter page to narrate how he was extorted by SARS.
He tweeted: "So I got stopped by SARS this morning around 10.30am at Ojuelegba under bridge en-route to Anthony. One officer in plain clothes stopped me , showed me his ID and started to question me. They asked me for my ID , what I do for a living , the whole nine yards... #ENDSARS" After searching thoroughly they asked my for phones and started to look very carefully. Fortunately I had used an app called "Freeze App" which someone I follow has suggested on twitter in case we wanted hide our apps...Unfortunately, I didn't hide my Whatsapp and i had circulated the petition to #ENDSARS to most of my contacts. I had not ended those chats. The operative saw this and started to shout that I was one of the people that are conspiring to end their source of lively-hood."

"They continued shouting and asking questions. are you a Yahoo boy? Who paid me? I must be engaged in fraudulent business! I calmly told them that they had checked my ID and they could verify easily with Google. I hadn't done anything wrong I reiterated." They now said I should speak to their Oga. I walked up to him and he said that I have to compensate them for inconveniences. I asked how have I inconvenienced you Sir? He said , "Oga, Its like you like speaking English abi? Long story short they took me to the nearest ATM. Fortunately, I had stopped carrying any bank card with money in the account. Especially because of the antics of armed robbers now. I happily keyed in my pass code in the account and showed them my balance. #ENDSARS"
"I could see the look of disappointment when they saw my balance. With no bank app on my phone they angrily told me to get away! I left asking my self so many "what ifs?". I was stopped in broad daylight what if I was stopped at Night? We really need to #ENDSARS and their impunity."
