One of the returnees from Libya identified as Alex Otoide, from Edo state, has revealed that members of 25 Nigerians died in the Sahara Desert during their journey.

Vanguard reports that seven members of the group also died in a Libyan jail.
NAIJ.com gathered that the human trafficking agent who Otoide claimed trafficked him to Libya collected N500,000 from him with a promise of a better life in Europe.
He said: “We were 55 that travelled from here to Libya, 25 people died in the desert, more than seven people died from hunger and thirst inside the prison”

“I left Nigeria with N500,000. I spent six months in Libya jail after the man that took my money ran away.”
Otoide regretted ending up in Libyan jail instead Europe. He said thing could have been worse for him as he witnessed the sale of 20 girls in the prison where they were all kept.
NAIJ.com had previously reported that one hundred and fifty Nigerians returned home from Libya on Thursday, November 30, after undergoing human rights abuse in the north African country.
