Meanwhile, on Wednesday, December 13, the managing director of PPMC, an NNPC subsidiary, Umar Ajiya, said the NNPC took delivery of two cargoes with 50 million litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) otherwise known as petrol.
Going further, he said that the corporation was expected to take delivery of a minimum of one cargo per day going forward.
“By rising up to the challenge, we have moved our operations to 24 hours in all our depots, we have moved our products ourselves to all our affiliate stations on a 24-hours basis,” he explained.
“The genesis of the whole problem was the rumour of the planned increase of petrol price by the NNPC. There is no iota of truth in that, therefore, Nigerians should calm down; they do not need to rush to buy products and hoard.”
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com reported that the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) on Tuesday, December 12, urged the federal government to fish out those behind the fuel scarcity.
NAIJ.com gathered that the apex northern socio-cultural group, wondered why there should be fuel scarcity at this period when there had been steady supply of the product since the pump price was increased over two years ago.
