Recall that NAIJ.com reported the story of a female Nigerian who survived acid attack at a very young age. The lady identified as Obanye Francess Chizoba has shared the story of how she coped with the scars on her face after surviving.
Chizoba who is a serving corps member of the National Youth Service Corps in Delta state shared her story ahead of the Christmas celebrations. She shared the story on her Facebook page where she talked about how she coped with the effects of the attack.
According to Chizoba, she was in the hospital for a year and six months treating her injuries. She explained that it was hard to fit in when she left the hospital and was enrolled in school.
The lady explained that people were always scared of her because of the scars on her face. She further added that she told herself to deal with it and be happy. Chizoba explained that her mother would always try to encourage her.

Chizoba wrote: “Some years back I became a victim of acid bath I wasn't too bothered because I was still tender I stayed at the hospital for like a year and six months, I came out I had to face the world with the help of my parents, I started school people will see me they would be scared it was quiet challenging, I will ask myself will I make it with this condition my sweet mum will encourage me sweet heart you will make it I will smile and be happy at least I will make it but my fear was will be better, she will tell me I will, I entered sec school and paired with people, some will like to relate with me while some won't still it did not stop me from moving on, some will ask those she have a boyfriend? Do you know why? Because they feel no one will love her with a scar on her face I will laugh still I moved on. People were asking many questions about me because I amaze people. Today she is a graduate and a corper is the God's grace at work in my life. The funniest of all is that my enemies did not know I will move on this big and I will surprise them making it bigger and letting d whole world know that having a scar on your face doesn’t stop u from shining. #Proud of myself # #come into my world and experience a real happiness #”

The corps member was reportedly doused with acid by uncle’s wife when she was only nine years old. It was gathered that her aunt who intended the attack for her brother fled after the tragic incident occurred.
