- Candidates must be nationals, citizens or permanent residents in Nigeria, with an active passport, given by the Nigerian government.
- Candidates must be doctoral students and have the permission from their original institution.
- They must have at least 2 years experience in their doctoral program.
- Study record of applicants must be perfect. They must also be fluent in English.
- The level of proficiency in English must be approved by the TOEFL test. The minimum result in it must not be less than 100 points.
- The main goal of this program for candidates must to finish their studies as scheduled and to return home, where they can apply the achieved knowledge.
- To receive an invitation for the interview, applicants must provide a strong proposal list, where they have to describe their research tasks, deadlines, and reasons for wanting to continue their research in the USA.
- Candidates, who are studying law, accounting, and business must remember that these fields are in high demand in the USA. So, such applicants would face great challenges, unless their work is connected with democracy, human rights, conflict resolutions, economic development etc.
