A Nigerian traditionalist identified as Iyierioba Uzoezie has sparked controversial conversation on Facebook after he compared two religious beliefs.
The man who shared photos of a state of Holy Mary and a shrine asked people which religion worships idols between paganism and Christianity.
Uzoezie who did not identify himself as a pagan or a Christian expressed that a lot of Christians refer to him as an idol worshipper.
He shared the photos of himself at a shrine and another photo of someone kneeling in front of the statue of Holy Mary to compare which religion could be referred to as idol worshipping.

Many people take offence to the idea of referring to any religion as idol worshipping but going by the meaning of idol worshipping which is defined as the worship of a physical image such as a statue, many could confuse any religion as idol worshipping.
However, in Abrahamic religions such as Christianity and Islam, idol worshipping simply means the worship of something other than God.
