Rahama Sadau is a rather new face in the Nigerian movie industry, but she has still managed to captivate people’s attention. Who is she? What do you know about her? Check out our Rahama Sadau biography to learn a little bit more about one of your favourite Nigerian actresses.
Early life
Rahama Ibrahim Sadau was born on December 7, 1992 in Kaduna, Nigeria. She spent most of her life in Kaduna State, where she lived with her parents and attended Kaduna Polytechnic. Sadau has a degree in Business Administration.
Rahama admitted that she wanted to become an actress ever since she was little. While she was attending primary and secondary school, she went to dance classes, but dreamt of something bigger.
In 2013, Sadau actually got her chance to realise her dream, and she took it. She met Ali Nuhu, who introduced her to the world of acting. Despite the fact that her parents did not really like the idea of their daughter going into the movie industry, Rahama went on to star in the movie called Gani Ga Wane. And that was the moment that changed her life.
Career and aspirations
Even though she is quite young, Rahama Sadau has already managed to gain quite a bit of fame over the past few years. She starred in numerous Kannywood and Nollywood movies, including Rariya, Rumana, Sons of the Caliphate and many others.
During her short career, Sadau has won quite a few awards. She has several wins in the category Best New Actress from the 2014 City People Awards, 2014 Bidbits, 2014 Arewa Films Awards and 2015 Afro Hollywood Awards, as well as Best African Actress at the 2015 African Film Awards and Face of Kannywood at the 2016 City People Entertainment Awards.
When asked about the people who inspire her, Rahama often names Genevieve Nnaji and Tiwa Sawage. The actress is also very fascinated with Bollywood, especially with Priyanka Chopra. She admitted that she managed to learn Hindi just by watching lots of Bollywood movies. Many of her fans and friends that know about Rahama’s obsession with Indian movies call her Priyanka.

Rahama Sadau is one of those people who do not let their fame go to waste. In 2016, she launched her own charity by the name of Ray of Hope. Through it, she is hoping to help women and young girls achieve their potential. Before that, she participated in various charity events, including Cancer day Walk in 2015.
As of now, the actress seems to be single, but she is only 24, so she has her whole life ahead of her. She also mentioned that she was afraid of mixing her private life with her career. Rahama is afraid of the possible jealousy of her potential partners due to the fact that she might have some on-screen romance.

Scandal with MOPPAN
Perhaps one of the things that made Rahama so famous is her conflict with the Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria, otherwise known as MOPPAN. The issues began in 2015, when the actress was still early in her career. Back then, she had a loud argument with Adam Zango, a well-known actor and producer, which resulted in her six-month suspension.
According to the actress, Zango harassed her and pressured her into being intimate with him. However, Rahama has since come out and apologised for her explosive reaction that led to her suspension. She claims that it is all in the past now, and that she and Adam are now good friends.
Another scandal around Rahama and MOPPAN happened by the end of 2016. She starred in a music video with the rapper ClassiQ, where the two were seen hugging and smiling at each other. MOPPAN deemed the video inappropriate and expelled Rahama from the industry altogether. You can find the music video at the end of the article and see for yourself what has gotten Sadau expelled.
A year later, Rahama delivered her letter of apology to MOPPAN, where she apologised for her inappropriate behaviour. However, the Association is torn whether to grant her pardon or not, as the actress has been violating her expulsion by starring in several movies since 2016 and allegedly badmouthing MOPPAN. We will have to wait and see what comes out of it.
That is all for our Rahama Sadau profile. As she is still quite young, there is not all that much to say about her life, but we believe that she has a bright future ahead of her. We hope she resolves her issues with MOPPAN and continues to star in Kannywood movies.
