- He states that the APC is desperate to win back the trust of Nigerians in view of 2019 general elections
The Action Democratic Party (ADP) has dismissed the report of the All Progressives Congress (APC) committee on true federalism as a new move to deceive Nigerians.
Yabagi Sani, the national chairman of the ADP, made this claim this in an interview in Abuja on Sunday, January 28.
Sani stated that Governor Nasir El-Rufai-led APC panel was just following a fresh phase of the party’s political trick, the Punch reports.

He said that the unseriousness of the APC-led administration is now obvious to all Nigerians. The ADP national chairman urged Nigerians be on the lookout on the APC’s bid to repeat the deception through which it took over the mantle of leadership in 2015.
Sani noted: “They (the APC) rode on the back of great promises in 2015 without clearly fulfilling any till date. Now, as we enter another election year; they are coming up with recommendations for restructuring which many of their party leaders strongly condemn and oppose.”
He noted that the APC was aware that it is short of time, and due to this, it had become desperate in its bid to avoid the inevitable verdict of Nigerians ahead of 2019.

He maintained that the content of the report could not distract Nigerians from the Olusegun Obasanjo’s open letter which detailed the failure of the APC-led administration.
However, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the public secretary of APC, in response said Yabagi Sani had a right to his opinion.
Abdullahi said: “They are free to say what they want to say. We are the ones who promised restructuring in our manifesto and we are working towards it.”
Earlier, NAIJ.com reported that the All Progressives Congress (APC) committee on restructuring had submitted its report to the national chairman of the party, Chief John Oyegun, on Thursday, January 25, making several recommendations based on the opinions of Nigerians.
NAIJ.com gathered that Governor of Kaduna and chairman of the committee, Nasir el-Rufai, speaking at the presentation of the report said when the recommendations are passed by the national assembly, “they will significantly rebalance our federation”.
