A serious fight broke out between rival street gangs in Ibadan, Oyo state, at the early hours of Monday, January 29, at Oke Ado, Itamaya and Foko area of the state.

One of the thugs was reportedly killed before the police could be mobilised to restore peace in the areas, Daily Trust reports.
NAIJ.com gathered that the cause of the fight could not be immediately ascertained, but it may, however, not be far from occasional battle for supremacy between rival groups in the affected areas.
It was reported that one of the thugs was allegedly hacked to death after being dragged from his house to Oke Ado area.
The police have been mobilised to restore normalcy in the areas.

In a related development, NAIJ.com previously reported that residents of Ondewari, a coastal settlement in southern Ijaw local government area of Bayelsa fled the area following clashes between rival gangs in which two persons were reported dead.
It was reported that most of the residents hid in the bush and observed the New Year.
A residents and renowned environmentalist, Alagoa Morris said the community has been deserted since the crisis commenced on December 30, 2017.
He said two persons were killed last July in similar clashes.Morris urged relevant security agencies to intervene and restore peace to the community.
