Liverpool have began the year 2018 on a winning note after beating hosts Burnley 2-1 on Monday, January 1 in a tough Premier League encounter played at the Turf Moor.
The discussion among many football pundits and lovers before the game was how Brazilian star Philippe Coutinho was dropped by Liverpool coach, but the Reds went ahead to win the match.
Burnley were the better side in the first 25 minutes of the game, and Liverpool will have their goalkeeper Simon Mignolet to thank who was at his best in his department.

Liverpool scored their goal in the 61st minute when Sadio Mane received an excellent cross from Alexander Arnold, and the Senegalese star wasted no time to beat Nike Pope who was in goal for Burnley.
Burnley had a superb chance to restore parity in the 70th minute when Jark Cork supplied Ashley Barnes a wonderful pass, but he could not find the back of the net.
The breakthrough eventually came for Burnley in the 88th minute when Johann Berg Gudmundsson headed home the equalizer.
But Ragner Klavan scored the winning goal for Liverpool at the death after receiving a superb pass from Dejan Lovren for Jurgen Klopp's men to win the match 2-1.
